Eastern Maine Basketball League (EMBL) is a fun and competitive league where it's all about the kids!

EMBL was founded in 2001; the result of a desire to offer kids in Eastern Maine an opportunity for additional competitive playing time.

We have come a long way since 2001 when we started with 12 teams and 2 divisions.  In 2006 , EMBL was the proud recipient fo the 2006 Doc Mann Youth Service Award presented by the Bangor Y in recognition of outstanding dedication and commitment to the youth in Eastern Maine.  The 2016-2017 season had 115 teams in 11 divisions.

Our intent and commitment since 2001 has not changed.  Founded on the principle that this would be an inclusive league rather than an exclusive league it's been our desire from the beginning to include as many kids that want to play and as many towns that want to enter teams.  Towns that can support more than one team in any particular division are encouraged and welcome to do so.

Please remember this is for the kids.  Let's have fun, compete and above all demonstrate good sportsmanship toward the opposing team and the referees.
